Stock Profit Calculator
Work out your profit or loss on a trade, your return, and the price you need to break even.
Tax holding period
In the US, gains on shares held more than one year are taxed at long-term capital gains rates, usually lower than short-term rates.
How the stock profit calculator works
Profit = (shares × sell price) − (shares × buy price) − fees + dividends
Total return is profit divided by what you invested. Annualized return converts that into a yearly rate so you can compare trades held for different lengths of time: (1 + total return)365 ÷ days − 1.
The break-even price is the sell price at which you would neither gain nor lose after fees and dividends.
